The best camera is....
...the one you have with you.
I just got back from a week with my family at Disney World. We had a great time, and for the most part, I left the picture taking to other people. I watched a fair number of people carrying around their DSLRs, sometimes with grips, additional lenses, etc. While I don't doubt they came away with some good photos, I cannot imagine lugging my Nikon around the park.
Instead, I kept my iPhone 5 in one pocket (also great for maps, texting, and the occasional phone call) and a Canon point-and-shoot in my other pocket.

And you know what? I didn't miss my DSLR. I didn't miss capturing every detail in 36MP. I didn't miss the backache from carrying around a complete kit 8-12 hours each day.
You know what else I didn't miss? LOTS of important memories with my family.
I took my favorite shot from the trip with the iPhone's low resolution "selfie" cam.

Thanks for looking,
